Sindhu Shiksha Abhiyan is a social initiative of STEAM VISION
We are a group of like minded people who get our inspiration from Swami Vivekananda, he says “If a student cannot come to Education, The Education should go to him”. This is our small effort in getting Education to the student and develop skills through distance education.
We are inspired by Shri Indresh Kumar and his Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, who eventually wants to grow and develop students who are personally successful, economically productive and actively engaged citizens of Leh-Ladakh. Our goal is to provide enough skills to our brothers and sisters in Leh, Ladakh. Lack of these skills threatens their social life, makes problems for their social acceptance and results in the deterioration of their social behaviors. We want to build self esteem in the students by providing them with the skill set which in turn will benefit the tourism sector in Ladakh. In today’s world possessing computer skills is a must. Equipping students with these skills needs a kind of training that is not compatible with traditional ways of teaching. Students in smart schools have the roles of learners and teachers. In these schools the curriculum is not restrictive i.e. students can go ahead of curriculum and the teaching methods is student-centered. Emphasis on the skills of thinking and providing learning teaching environment is one of the strategy..
We want to create a platform of likeminded people to come together, support, share and bridge together to achieve the big goals. All this will help us to fulfill the vision of Our Honorable Prime Minister’s Skill India, Digital India and Standup India.
